Shanti Devi Found a Safe Home and a New Family
When Shanti Devi lost her husband, she was left alone with no stable source of income and very little family support. At the age of 72, she was living in a small rented room in Delhi where she struggled to afford food, medicine, and basic daily necessities. Her health began to decline, and loneliness became one of the greatest challenges in her life. A local volunteer introduced her to Karuna Dham Foundation, where she was welcomed into our old age care program. She received a safe place to live, nutritious meals every day, regular medical checkups, and compassionate emotional support from caregivers and volunteers. Over the following months, Shanti Devi regained her strength and confidence. She began participating in community activities, prayer gatherings, and storytelling sessions with other elderly residents. What once felt like a life of abandonment slowly transformed into a life filled with companionship, respect, and purpose. Today, Shanti Devi smiles with confidence and often says that Karuna Dham Foundation gave her not only shelter, but also a family. Her story reminds us that every elderly person deserves dignity, care, and the opportunity to live with hope. This transformation was made possible through the generosity of donors, volunteers, and supporters who believe that compassion can change lives. Every contribution helps provide food, healthcare, shelter, and emotional care to elderly individuals who need it the most.
